Walkthrough

Salesforce allows five free integration user licenses for each Enterprise Edition org. Follow the instructions below to add one.

  • Log in to your Salesforce account.
  • Use the top navigation to go to “Setup” and then, in the left-hand navigation, go to “Users”. Select “New User”.
  • Create a new user with “User License” set to “Salesforce Integration” and “Profile” set to “Salesforce API Only System Integrations”. Check the box for “Marketing User".
  • Click the “Save” button.
  • Check your email for a new message from Salesforce asking you to verify your account. Proceed through the steps to verify your newly created user.
  • Log out of the Salesforce org and log in again using your new Salesforce admin user credentials.
  • Return to “Setup” and use the left-hand “Quick Find” search bar to search for “Permission Sets”.
  • Create a new permission set labeled “Give Lively Integration User - Standard Objects” with the “License” set to “Salesforce API Integration”.
  • Click the “Save” button.
  • Edit the same permission set to grant access to Accounts, Contacts, Campaigns and Opportunities.
  • We recommend granting “Modify All” and “Create” permissions on each object, as well as “Read Access” and “Edit Access” on each of the object’s fields.
  • Under System Permissions, grant "Assign Permission Sets", "Download AppExchange Packages" and "Manage Profiles and Permission Sets".
  • Click the “Save” button.
  • Return to “Setup” and use “Quick Find” to search for and open “Permission Sets”.
  • Create another new permission set labeled “Give Lively Integration User - Custom Objects”, this time with “License” set to “--None–”.
  • Edit the newly created permission set to grant similar access to the Ticket Purchases and Ticket Tiers objects.
  • Navigate to your newly created permission set by clicking on “Setup” in the top navigation, then “Quick Find” search for “Permission Sets”. Click the name “Give Lively Integration User - Standard Objects”.
  • Click the “Manage Assignments” button.
  • Click “Add Assignment”.
  • Assign to your new integration user.
  • Repeat the above steps for the “Give Lively Integration User - Custom Objects” permission set and the “Give Lively Additional Permissions” permission set.
  • Connect Give Lively to Salesforce using your newly created integration user credentials. If prompted to allow access, click the “Allow” button. You may need to use the “Not you?” link if you’re currently logged in with your normal Salesforce admin user account.
  • The connection will be established. Wait a minute or two and then refresh. You will see a warning about how the Permission Sets failed to apply. This can safely be ignored, as you provided the necessary permissions in the previous steps.
